Wireless Network Interference

Post by Wallygator »

I just bought a Linksys wireless router, and a wireless PC card for my laptop. When accessing the internet or the network I get a crackling sound from my laptop speakers. It's definately some sort of interference. It is a Compaq laptop. I am going to exchange the PC card and see if that helps. Any suggestions. Thanks.

I could be using the same IRQ as the sound card

Any Ideas???

Post by Wallygator »

Well I can't figure this out. Wireless works great except for some minor static interference in the laptop speakers. No big deal I guess. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? Any idea would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Other non PC devices in the room with laptop (2.4 ghz phones, tuners, microwaves)? Are you using channel 6?
I also use the Linky with np's.
Perhaps try uninstall and reinstall wireless card.
