What i meant was what type of mobo: ie Brand, Model, Chipset, etc. Should be with the info booklet it came with.

Due to the time period until he gets artifacts, I'm thinking the cooling fan on his video card?

To help iron out driver problems though, latest motherboard INF's? Latest video drivers?

Yo Weed..did you take a look at your vid card while your system is running....is that fan on the video card running nice 'n smooth 'n fast? Doing it's job?

Peek at your CPU fan also while you're in there.

Ok does it have a VIA chipset on the board? They're blackish little boxes, flat with tapered corners and say "VIA" on 'em
There's gotta be some brand name on the board or in between the pci slots. You're gonna have to look closely and write evrything down.
Also, word of advise: NEVER THROW AWAY INFO THAT CAME WITH THE BOARD !.

Now we gotta play peek-a-boo with the mobo's internal parts. That book could've saved you alot of headaches.

Go to start\run and then type msinfo32 and press enter. Sometimes the board will be listed in the bios version.
