windows XP + cs = lag ;(

Hi

Whenever i use winxp to connect to the internet, my ping in counter-strike goes mad, 100-400. However I can browse pages easily. However when I use my linux router to connect to the internet, I can run counter-strike with 20 ping, so it's not a config problem but an winXP problem. PLEASE! help me.

i have cable and i have gotten 40 ping with xp cept i frequently freeze. i do know the max fps for xp in games is 60 fps with out a patch. we also need some specs.

what has that have to do with anything? btw max fps without a patch is NOT 60, thats not true.

i get like 30 - 90 pings all the time with XP, and a router.

i know one of my friends ping does that too. hes got XP and his ping can get up there but it seems likes its at certain parts of the day so it may just be a busy network. i guess the only way to test it is that maybe some day ill take my comp over there and see what my ping is and then we could have a 2 person lan woohoo lol. also whats your specs boyansk??
