I have Cox and love it, the only problems I have ever had is when they were switching to thier servers earlier this year. Other than that my speed is great (3000/256) and I have never had an outage (other than the switch over). :)

I recently just coverted to Cox HSI from Roadrunner last week and I love mines. I was capped at 3000/256 now it's 3000/300. I get 2.5 to 2.9mbps download and 220 to 280kbps up no matter what time of day it is, latency is between 60 to 112ms to servers in the USA and 50 to 190ms to oversea servers. I wish I can get 3000-3500kbps download and 50 to 140ms to overseas and 50 to 90ms to USA but it'd be fixed soon as the months goes by. Here's one speed test:

2002-06-26 16:09:04 EST: 2733 / 269
Your download speed : 2733006 bps, or 2733 kbps.
A 333.6 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 269705 bps, or 269 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

Well, I'm happy with mines, and it will get better as the months goes on because Cox in my neck of the wood is still upgrading and fixing the network, getting the bugs stamped out, and things does take time so I'm willingly to wait ;) But I didn't have no problems with the conversion from Roadrunner, except for outages, but no one isn't perfect and I'm having no packet loss at all. Web surfing is fast and using KaZaA Lite, MP3s downloads fast for me.
Computer specs:

Dell Dimension 2350 with a 1.7Ghz Intel Celeron Proccesor, Windows XP Home Edition, 80 Gig hard drive, 768Mb of DDRAM PC2100, CDRW and cdrom. Cox.net at 4Mbps down and 512Kbps up.

Welcome to the Hampton Roads / Williamsburg / Va Beach area.

You'll be on hr.cox.net

We're at around 1.5m/256k here. Leastways that's what I get fairly consistently. Service is pretty reliable with maybe a total of half an hour per month outage, usually late Sunday nights (3-4am).

Regards,
