Thanks for the heads up Cap. I switched all but 1 machine back to .99. I wonder if Stanford is trying to really piss off the genomers to get them to switch to Folding as they have said that is where all future development efforts are going. I hope not as that is an underhanded way to accomplish the switch. I just checked the Yahoo and F@H3 forums and still no answer to the problems with the new client.

Yep. Moved my 2 'test' boxes to back to .99 also.

If it wasn't for the 500K mark being so close I would have to rethink G@H and staying. As it is, I am pretty sure at 500K I am going over to F@H.

They told (us) to open up the Embassy, or "we'll blow you away." And then they looked up and saw the Marines on the roof with these really big guns, and they said in Somali, "Igaralli ahow," which means "Excuse me, I didn't mean it, my mistake".

Screw them, I switched back all but 1 system.
If they wanted beta testers why didn't they just ask instead of trying to out flank us.All the genes that I have done (about 82) since SAT. are just TEST GENES.
I started going backwards in the standings from 200+ aday to less than <100
redid all my installs just in case, didn't work finally wrote to Stefan about it. Then today Stanford was down, who knows whats going on.
I know 1 thing I'm getting tired of all the run around.

This is really FUBAR

Just checked and Stanford G@H server is up and loading extremely fast for a change. I'm not really sure what to do at the 500K point but will go along with the majority of the team. I wonder what a combined froggie/Speedguide G@H team would put out. We might be able to ride that horse to the top.

The Combined team "SG/AMD_MB" is an interesting Idea there.
Respect it.

Are there other worthwhile research institutions besides Stanford? If they keep jerking us around, maybe somebody else could use our surplus CPU power?

I really don't know, I did seti for a while, and united deices, but I think that folding and genome are better for humanity.

I particularly did NOT do SETI due to the extreeme longtermness of the benefits. I was hoping to contribute to something that will have a real benefit to people, ideally in my own lifetime. I do believe that with sufficient research, a lot of progress can be made in medicine in curing and preventing many diseases.

On the other hand, even if I detected an intelligent signal from outer space and it was relatively close, like 4000 light years away, by the time humanity sends a message of "Hey dudes, great to know we are not alone", and they reply with "Super, many of us thought you did not exist, but this is really neat", 8000 years are gone. Due to the short lifetimes of humans, I will never hear their response. In my opinion, total waste of time.
