No Audio in Win95

Post by iron2000 »

My old Win95 com suddenly lost it's sound.

It says there is no prefered hardware in the multimedia control panel. There are no audio devices in the advanced tab.

Tried "Add new hardware" but none is detected.

Restarted the com but didn't work too.

(Happened once before but after "Add new hardware" and none is detected plus a restart the audio is back)

Anyone has solutions???
(I am really worried about my "old friend")

Thanks

I left it for a day then I booted it up again the audio hardware just came back (no "windows had detected new hardware")

At first the Winamp did produce sound but weird sounds lasting only one second (when playing any song)

Then I went to the sound control panel to check the windows sounds it works.

I then went back to Winamp to try again, it worked.

Thanks
