ive never had dsl until a few days ago so if you could give me a little direction i would appreciate it...

MTU = 1492
MTU seems to be optimized for PPPoE... If you are not on a PPPoE connection, consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1452
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1452, which is equal to MSS.
MSS is optimized for PPPoE. If you are not on a PPPoE connection, consider increasing your MTU value.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 65535
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 65535
Note: Under Windows 9x, if you have RWIN set to any other value, and the Analyzer reports 65535 you might need to install the MS Vtcp386 fix.
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.

Looks ok. Hows your speed, http://atl.speakeasy.net/ with RWIN 65535 ? What speeds are you paying for, down and upload? Another RWIN to try is 63888 or 32767

Try lowering your RWIN and respeed test to see if you get better speed. Start with the lowest value and move up from there, till your speed doesn't improve, then drop back 1 RWIN value.
31944, 40656, 50820 or 63888
I use 32767 and get my best from that.

My service is bell south instant access dsl, i have a networking 2wire home portal deal that connects to my netgear card via cat5. the service says 1500/256, but i am getting 1200/210. i dont see any pppoe files in start or control panel, the network box stays connected and its logged on the minute i start my pc. the best results for rwin is when it is set in the mid 60k's

Is there a version of tcp/ip o above 1.00, because i click dsl and every time a restart it has the cable button fixed, i dont think it hurts anything, its just annoying. And it sounds like a stupid question, but, how do i know if i have a pppoe connection or a regular, it goes from phone to always on modem/network box to netgear 10/100 via cat5 (pci)...I have no clue about this stuff

Don't be too concerned about the radio button staying in the 'cable' position -- that is just the default position for the program. It is of little consequence.
You most likely have PPPoE -- otherwise it would be very unlikely that you would find an MTU of 1492.
Look under Network Properties and you will generally find your answer.

I messed around with my pppoe routher adsl (claims=1500/256)(getting 1220down/210up) before a leave well enough alone i would like to know how i should do with these settings, just tell me on or off and ill be set
