Cable Modem

Post by stu2 »

I have a Samsung modem and I can not check my usage on line because the cable company says that the modem does not connect to do that and I am told that because of this there is no way they can limit my downloads and uploads.

Also my modem is connected through my USB port I noticed in a message that the modem should be connected to the card instead, is this for that model of modem only or does this go for all modems and why.

I don't see why modems "have" to be connected to a NIC. So long the modem supoorts USB, and you have a USB port in ur comp, you should be able to use it. I, personally, like using NIC though. If you're unsure about wheater or not to use a NIC, call and ask your ISP. They should be able to give you the right answer.
