What did I do wrong?

Post by binksfan »

On a tip from one of the guys here at SG, I d/l the trial version of Paint Shop Pro. While looking around for something to do yesterday, I opened it up and loaded a picture and started playing with it. When I finished, I saved the picture to desktop so I could load it again later and play some more. Then I closed Paint Shop and it took me back to browser screen (Yahoo) which had been running in the background. My monitor is set to 24 bit true color, 1024x768 but everything looks like I have changed it to 1280x1024. I tried to reboot and got an error screen saying windows did not load properly and it booted up in the safe mode. I checked everything in device mngr while in safe mode and everything said no conflicts. Rebooted and it came back up in normal mode but screen is still smaller print like 1280x1024. I tried a couple times to set screen from 800x600 to 1024x768 to 1280x1024 and then back to 1024x768. Still the same problem. I finally picked a little larger font thru tools/internet options and got the Yahoo screen so that type is bigger but SG and other screens are still small. Funny thing is if I open MY Yahoo! personal screen it seems like it used to be. Nothing else seems to be malfunctioning, even PSpro when I reopen it. Any ideas what could have caused this.

Running older Celeron 500Mghz, 256 M Ram, Voodoo 16 M graphics card, W98SE, HP 17" monitor.----------Thanx

Is it just in the browser that everything is smaller? Or is your desktop smaller too? If it is the browser,, try closing it and go to start,, Programs,, accessories,,system tools,,system information. Under the tools in that program is internet explorer repair tool. Run that and see if it helps.

let me know

Boot to command prompt. When your at the c:\ type "scanreg /restore" then press enter. Select a date before your change and press enter again.

Check to see that you have the latest drivers for your video card and monitor. For the longest time I could not get some Adobe prodcuts to work above a low resolution, I made sure my monitor had the proper driver and never had the problem since.
