Klipsch 2.1 vs Logitech Z560

Post by Ahoyhoy »

Alright alright I know that the Logitechs are 4.1's and the Klipsch promedias are 2.1's, but the prices are fairly similar, with the Logitech's being about 30 dollars cheaper. I listen heavily to music on my computer, with just a bit of casual gaming. Currently I'm listening to some cheapo Altec Lansings on an Audigy. So with that in mind, what system would you guys choose? Ahoyhoy

One more thing...

Post by Ahoyhoy »

One more thing I would like to add is that one of the added benefits of the Klipsch 2.1's are that I wouldn't know where to put the rear speakers of the logitechs in my room. With the 2 sattelites of the Klipsch, I could just set them on the side of my monitor, but I wouldn't know how to position the Logitech's rear speakers. Power is not really that important to me, I think my current 40 watt system is fine in the volume category, what I am looking for is sound quality. So with the power factor taken out of the Logitechs and the inconvience of positioning 4 sattelites, would you guys still recommend the Logitechs over the Klipsch? Thanks! Ahoyhoy

well, in my opinion, if i were to bet a day's income on one or the other with sound quality being in the forefront, i would have to suggest the Klipschs. i have heard them, and they are very nice in terms of sound quality. i will add that i have not listened to the Logitechs, so take this with a grain of salt. i would also consider that Klipsch has an excellent reputation in terms of their speakers. Logitech?... well, speakers are not what they are known for. not to say the speakers you are lookiong at are bad or anything. its just if i were to buy without actually hearing them myself, the Klipsch speakers would be what i would get.

I was thinking about that, but then wouldn't that mess up the m3d effect, without the rear speakers being behind you? Ahoyhoy

If you are looking for sound quality for music, I would go with the Klipsch. The have a much clearer and undistorted low tones and nice clean high tones, even at higher volume levels. If you watch movies then maybe you want the Logitechs. Since you said you don't play alot of games then 4.1 or 2.1 really make no difference to you. To sum it all up, sound quality is better on the Klipsch, not to say the sound quality on the Logitechs is bad though.

I would be willing to bet that neither company actually designed or produces the speakers they are selling.

Rather than place the rear speakers up front, I would just leave them in the box.

Well...

I just bought a set of Z-560's today and these things KICK ASS. I was shaking the whole frickin room! My fiancee eventually threatened to pull Bobbit manuever if I didnt "TURN THAT SH*T DOWN!!!". LOL

Man.. I was BLOWN AWAY. The sound quality is outrageous. Man... spend the money on the Logitech. Its well worth the $199.

I'm EXTREMELY satisfied.
