Enternet Drivers

Post by robbeing »

It is possible that this might belong in the software forum, but, here goes!
I am currently running Enternet 100 to connect my Speedstream 5260 DSL modem. My question is, can I dump the 100, and go to using the 300 Enternet, or, would RASPPPOE be the way to go?
I can't complain about my connect speed (1300kbps down, and 300kbps up on average)the advertised speed (Earthlink DSL) is 1500kbps down, and 340kbps up. I just wonder if "upgrading would in any way, enhance my perfomance. I am in the process of buying a Linksys 4 port router, does any of this matter to the router? :D

The Linky router is nothing but trouble, but I do agree that a router with PPPoE support would be the way to go. You'd never have to login again, as it would do it automatically for you.

Any, you should have no problems using RASPPPoE and it's definitely better than Ethernet 100, not sure about 300. You should ask Bob Carrick or visit his site. He's on this forum somewhere. Of course if you are getting a router asap, you wont need any of this software.
