Insight Broadband Speeds

Post by Zporttech »

After recently getting switched from @Home to InsightBB, my speeds seem to be a little better, even at peak times. Any other Insighters out there have a comment?

I have noticed that as well. In my area they did the switch in a matter of minutes, which amazed me. Ever since then my speeds seem to be better. Maybe I should call and complain ;) Damn them doing a good job and giving me nothing to complain about.

my connection is horrid even with the change to insightbb. I live in champaign, and they aren't taking any service calls. Does anyone have a problem with their cable modem shutting down?

Im actually in Urbana, and my speeds are pretty good. My slowest speed tested on dslr was 1.3mb down and around 90k up.

My cable modem has been running great! I have the Motorola SB3100.

Here's a test of my speed a few minutes ago:

Tested on LinkLine Server on DSL Reports:

Test running.........
** Speed 1392(down)/99(up) kbps **
(At least 27 times faster than a 56k modem)
Logged result.
Finish.

You've a problem with overload or something in the plant between you and the headend. Try running some pings to your default gateway and see what you get. Different times of the day will help to pin down the problem.

I'm not doing too bad since the switch. However, my upload is now capped. I used to get 128 kiloBytes up, now it's like 40 something.

Another thing, is the constant activity on the WAN side. I mean when code red was out several months ago, it eventually kinda died off where there wasn't that high level of activity.

Since the switch, my modem's lights almost look like code red all over again, but this time, zone alarm isn't picking up any hits from it. My router must be dropping them.
Anyone else's modem showing a lot of activity on Insightbb ?

Anyway here's a speed test I got...

** Speed 3237(down)/363(up) kbps **
(At least 64 times faster than a 56k modem)
Finish.

Good luck to you guys.
