Hey, I just got my cable modem, so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but I found this website and tested my speed.
www.dslreports.com]http://www.dslreports.com/speedtests/51 ... eports.com

I don't know if this is good or not, please help me figure it out, also, my download speed SUCKS! like 50 k's per second, I have no clue what's going on!

Sorry, my results were

Your download speed : 5132719 bps, or 5132 kbps.
Browsers would show : about a 626.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 480192 bps, or 480 kbps.
Your connection rocks .. above the 1mbit barrier!

Please help me, thanks.

Please click in my signature where it says TCP/IP Analyzer Test tweak here, then:
At top where it says edit click and select, Select all,
Then go back to same edit button at top, click and select copy.
Come back to Speed Guide, same thread you were on, in post reply box, with cursor blinking at begining of box go to top, edit, click, select paste, click, this will put information in box. Please X out your IP address, Thank you. :)

er, ah, NO, do this please:

Make sure you get newest version Download SG Optimizer to your desktop, select connection type at top, select optimal settings at bottom, click on apply changes at very bottom, Select adapter you are using and REBOOT
If you wish to enter custom TCP recieve window select custom settings at bottom, enter what you wish, click on apply changes at bottom and REBOOT.
If using Cablenuts adjuster too, you must first bring up adjuster, click on clear all boxes at bottom and reboot, then download and install optimizer.

Optimizer in my signature :) :) :)

All looks OK if CPU can handle that RWIN, what size CPU do you have and how much ram? :)

Oddly Enough...

Post by Acklor »

Oddly enough, I tested all of those suggestions for RWIN and the one I had previously:

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 513920

was the fastest one of the bunch. I'm not encountering any problems as yet, but if I do, I have the other suggestions saved in a text file where I can change them if needed lol

Thanks for the help! :D

That is not the objective, it's how fast you download a file, online tests are to see if your tweaking is going the right way :) :)

If the real test is to see how fast you can download a file, then I guess I'm pretty fast. I can download a 5MB file in about a minute. Is that fast or slow?
