Are you sure you cleared all of the files from the warez version before you installed the retail version?

Sometimes, an installer for a game will not write certains files to your HD if a file in the same directory with the same name exists. At least that is the way it goes for me when I install a game, play it some, save the game saves to a folder, and uninstall to make room on my HD - to reinstall and play at a later date.

This is why numbskulls like me have to format.

when it cuts out, do you get any errors? try playing at a different resolution or playing at low or medium resolution.

I did a fresh install and I still can't work out why it's not working.

I formatted windows 2k and installed XP, then installed Proper full retail version

Let me just take this time to say that all you are doing when you warez a game is making big business take computer gaming less and less seriously, which will eventually lead to the extinction of PC games we know them. Because all the developers will start working on X-Box only games.

That's crap and you know it music. Do you buy any? I do have warez etc on my computer, but I also buy games merely to support the industry.

I usually try the demo's first and if I really like it then I buy the retail version.
MaximumPC comes with a cd every month that always has some great software/utilities and game demo's.

As for your problem: Does it happen with any other games/progs?
