First do the auto-logon in XP Tweaks, then Control panel, User accounts, click on Change the way users log on or off, Uncheck both boxes, Use welcome screen and fast user switching, reboot,
in boxes that come up when you logon just click OK, no passwords
P.S. My WinXP is pretty slow on shutting down =( weird

Anyway, Carla, try my PPPoE guide and do the "Assign your NIC an IP and Subnet" for Windows XP.
