Need help this is urgent
Ok when ever I do a tracert to any website....the first hop is to this ip address which is in private use......so I found this odd so I did a visual tracert to this address which is 10.28.192.9....and it says its a private use ip and its some where in CO......so I'am like wtf I live in vienna why is it going all the way out there....any help.....I emailed the company who is responsible for that ip but I dont know what to do......any help!

It sounds VERY nasty. I'm not an expert on such matters, but I can only guess one thing. All your internet traffic is going through that site and your computer is using it as a gateway. I can not imagine your ISP giving you a gateway that is so far away, so I would assume it is malicious. Why would someone do that? You would have NO online privacy and they would have full tracking of everything you say, do and think online. I know that a server called 'netsetter' offers such a thing, but I've never heard of it being done like this. I'm interested in reading wht other people think.

When I do a tracert my first hop is 10.75.33.1 It has always been in that range. I am on comcast@home.
All IPs 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 are private addresses. Might be that our providers are using some form of address translation...

Someone on this site told me that, and I also asked an @home support tech who also confirmed the same thing.
Mine will also take a long time to reply on that hop, but the actual milliseconds will still show a low time, like 11ms.

yeah it is more than likely your modem, actually I think you can access your modem if you change your ip to the same subnet as your modem....
