A ping problem.

Post by Bababooey »

I have pacbell adsl and for the last 3 1/2 weeks my pings go up really high between 1pm until around midnight monday thru friday and then it goes back to normal and there are no problems during the weekends and the problem is only with my pings, I can still upload and download at my usual speeds and there is no packetloss. Right now when I ping my gateway it will get between 150-220ms when it usually is between 10-20ms. I have had this service since 8/26/99 and have never had any problems but I have been calling thier tech support since it started and they checked the lines and everything checks out fine so now they want to send someone out here to check if its a hardware problem on my end and they want to charge me 60 bucks just so they can look at it and 15 bucks every half hour it takes the techie to fix it but if it were a hardware problem then wouldn't my connection be screwed up 24/7? What do you guys think the problem is?

HnH-

Hey, be nice the fellow he only wanted some advice on how to make his ping more stable. I read your thread in the Hardware forum, and you treated a whole bunch of folks badly in that one too. SG is a place people come for help, not to get a verbal slap. Play nice.
