help me tweak my DSL!!
help me tweak my DSL!!
I downloaded that mtupatch98.zip and double clicked the main file [mtupatch98] and it SORTA helped speed up my DSL. When I download, I can usually get a maximum of 25 kb/sec, but after i "tweaked" my DSL, i downloaded an mp3, and it started at 25 kb/sec as usually, and moved up to 65 kb/sec but then went back down to 25 kb/sec REALLY FAST. Like in 1 sec. So it didnt really help my DSL. my DSL is still real slow. Well anyways, can somebody help me tweak my DSL, because it really SUCKS. I'm getting ripped off, with paying a large $50 a month for this slow connection. Thank you

Please click in my signature where it says Test your tweak here, then:
At top where it says edit click and select, Select all,
Then go back to same edit button at top, click and select copy.
Come back to Speedguide, same thread you were on, in post reply box, with cursor blinking at begining of box go to top, edit, click, select paste, click, this will put information in box. Please X out your IP address, Thank you.

Your test shows no speed patch installed, do the following and it will clean out that part of your registry plus you will install speed patch
Click on help page below in signature and follow directions exactly, please leave your OS and system specs if you have not done so.Also if you have Cablenuts adjuster installed I need to know that. On 2nd page of help page at bottom are some Tips and how to do speed test. Thank you and good luck. If anyone says disreguard system specs I need them to help you so please furnish, thank you

OS = Windows 95,98, 2000, Me ? Understand ?
Systems spec are : Type and speed of the processor, Ram of memory, type and hard drive capacity, video and sound card, etc.
If you dont know go to (sorry, i translate from french) Start, Programs, Accessories, System tools, system information. You will find there the informations about OS, processor and ram memory, the most useful of system spec for speed. My adsl speed is now 1277 KB/s @ 200 ms (was at an average of 160 before tweaking).
Lobo is very good to help. Dsl will be fast for you soon.
Good luck.

cablenut??
I was following the instructions under the "Manually backing up your registry" part, and it said I need to download a program called Cablenut or something, for this to work? So should I download that now and continue with the steps on the help page?
"I'm so gangsta I shot myself"
didnt work
I tried tweaking it myself, I'm not sure if i did it or not, I just finished, do I need to restart my comp now for the changes to take effect or something? cuz i just tried downloading an mp3 and it went as slow as before..... Heres my results:

OK, slow down first, I have no idea how your test results came up like that, first bring up Cablenuts adjuster and at top it says options, click on that and select your operating system, very important, then at bottom of adjuster it says delete Cablenut tweaks, click on that and then REBOOT, restart computer.
Then go to where you UNZIPPED Speedguides patch to, RIGHT click on it, up to install or merge ,LEFT click, REBOOT, retest, repost,
and stop trying to see if your faster until we get you right, OK,lol

doesnt work
i just did all that and rebooted and well im back. i tested it out by downloading an mp3. same speed. [20- 25 k/s] well i think it didnt work but heres the results.
