genome@home genes relation to workunits..

Post by BaLa »

example....

Jughead 6786.82 units / 446 genes = 15.21708.. WU's/gene
Lukeman 6350.59 units / 347 genes = 18.30141.. WU's/gene
Andeeb 1318.27 units / 075 genes = 17.5769333.. WU's/gene
KenJ 0721.18 units / 040 genes = 18.0295 WU's/gene
balakov10 0376.32 units / 034 genes = 11.06823.. WU's/gene

RicRogue, danward and Dids all have 1 gene not all have the same amount of units..

same with
Stormwalker and tekelberry all have 9 genes, they both have different amount of units...

how are the number of units related to the number of genes?

maybe this might help.....

How much is a work unit?

We define a work unit as the complete design of one 100-amino acid protein sequence. This generally takes about a day or two on an average computer. The size of the protein you get sent may well be shorter or longer that 100 amino acids, and we calibrate for the size of your protein sequence when we calculate work statistics.

has to do with the rotamer library and "positions" to filter which i believe = amino acids........but then i am not anywhere close to being anything but a cruncher.......

They told (us) to open up the Embassy, or "we'll blow you away." And then they looked up and saw the Marines on the roof with these really big guns, and they said in Somali, "Igaralli ahow," which means "Excuse me, I didn't mean it, my mistake".
