Help please trying to set MTU

Post by Epiphany »

In HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\NetTrans\ I have set max MTU to 1492 in folders 0000 and 0005, which are the only 2 using TCP/IP. But the Analyzer says it's set to 1454 and not optimized. What am I doing wrong?

I don't know what to try. Is there any reason the analyzer would not see the MTU as it is set in the registry?

I'm experimenting with changing RWIN, problem is the analyzer keeps recommending I change my RWIN to be a multiple of MSS, which it already IS if I go by my registry MTU (1492). The analyzer seems to read all the other values as they are set in registry, but not MTU. Any ideas at all?

Okay, now I just tested at dslreports and it says my MTU is 1454 also. So I am lost. Would something be overriding the registry setting?

Go to help page below in signature, middle of 1st page click on DSL, pay attention to MaxFrameSize, REBOOT as soon as you change number :) :)
