I am a tweaker. I have a problem i know.. I just gotta install every fix,patch,update,plug-in,module,beta test and registry hack I can get my hands on. So as you can imagine I am often having to formatt my HD to remove all the "Updates" I have foolishly installed. But I was wondering if I could be damaging the drive by formatting so frequently?
and if so how many would you say in your opinion is "too many"
I doubt its possible to do such a thing, HDD's are rated for many thousands of hours of use. Now if ya did it everyday for a few years it might do some harm

I gave Miss Manners a Dirty Sanchez, and she LIKED it.
4 times a year is just normal duty for a HDD. Defragging a drive is probably more data shuffling anyways, and the ubquitous "they" recommend doing that 1-2 times a month.
i gotta learn to type properly

I format my HD at least 10 times a year, and I know one guy who has formatted his hard disk at least a thousand times over a couple years! There was no damage at all!
