New Test Site

Post by SSky11 »

I found a new test site given to me by a Verizon online representative. She told me this is one of the most accurate testers around. I can't wait till everyone uses this link, and it will be because of me. hehehe.

I not sure about it's accuracy. My speeds never go over 2Mbps, but with this test they're way too high. It was nice to post a number as high as you Lobo (at least for a little while). :)

Let me note to all testers that this test is really for Verizon DSL clients who use a PPPoE. So all cable testers are definitly going to clock higher than us DSL PPPoE individuals. This site is used to measure whether your connection package is there. The customer respresentative said 640/128 average speed is between 30kb a sec to 60kbs.
And 1.5/128 run at 100kbs to 250kbs.

Using a 500kB file is useless for accuracy. You need a much bigger file (5MB of over) to get a true reading. The reason verizon is using a small(er) test file most likely is to fool its users thinking they have more speed than what they actually have.

I can't beleive my eye's they have a 500Kb file go find a good test site with a fast connection and download it if you need a graph get net stat from analogx so you can see if your slow or fast..
But definetly get a bigger file to work with.

Damn... for Verizon Online user with a higher upload than me your speeds suck.. I have the same package from Verizon... didn't know they offered 128 Upload. I have 90 upload and my speeds are better than yours. :)
Test just showed: 520.2KBits 65KBytes
I'm upgrading to the 1.5Mbps/128 plan :) Hey, I can help you tweak your Verizon Online to the way I have it :) What do you say, wanna give it a shot?
