SAMSUNG 990 PRO 2TB

Post by Easto »

Newegg has these for $133.49 and that's about the lowest I've seen them in a long while. They usually seem to drift between $169 / $159 / $149. I don't think they were this low even during the last black Friday sales.

Here's something weird about the Newegg sale... The have the 4tb drive for sale at $319. But they have the same 4tb drive with a heatsink for $259. Do you think that's a misprint?

Hemm, Amazon even has the Samsung Evo Plus 4TB for $199 (the version without DRAM). Very tempting, heh

Ordered another 2TB Samsung 990 Pro. I use those for OS drives in the SG servers actually (with 1u low-profile PCIE riser cards), 2 or 3 SSDs in Raid1 for redundancy, they've been rock-solid even if they're not "Enterprise" drives.

Edit: cancelled, went for 4TB

The heatsink 4tb 990 Pro is at $259 (both Newegg and Amazon), not a misprint at all. I guess they have more in stock and trying to move them. Cancelled my 2tb order and changed to the 4tb with heatsink

The 1tb went back up to $159. From $133 to $159, amazing. I hope this is an indication that prices may drop considerably for Black Friday.

The 2tb 990 pro is now back up to $179.... ouch! It looks like a lot of prices have taken a BIG jump in the last week. I should have scooped of a handful of them at $133 when I had the chance. I doubt we'll see that price again.

WOW! That was fast. Newegg raised the price $10 over night. It is now $189. Yikes.

Samsung does that... It is the same price on Amazon. The heatsink version of 2tb 990 Pro is $155 on Amazon today.

Back in the day when I was buying computer stuff I would use Camel/Camel to keep track of the prices but it got too clunky and I deleted it. I need something good to track prices.

https://pcpartpicker.com/ - There is a decent histogram of prices, once you drill down to the particular part you want...

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/ - they have some price charts, price history, and value charts (performance / price) for CPUs, Video Cards, etc.
