SG is turning 18 :) ... and some updates

Post by Philip »

The speedguide.net domain was originally purchased on 5/5/1999, exactly 18 years ago!

It's been a wild ride, and we're still here :p (well at least some of us ;) )

The SG speed test has been completely revamped over the past couple of weeks, it is now HTML5, supports all modern browsers, and uses multiple streams/threads to better test download/upload/ping/jitter!

By the way, if anyone has spare change, er. bandwidth on a dedicated server somewhere, we can use a few extra mirrors, the change to the new speed test last night rendered many of the old speed test mirrors obsolete. Here is some info on hosting a mirror: https://www.speedguide.net/speedtest/add_mirror.php

Despite being banned 13 times. Thanks Ken. ;)

Life and other forums got in the way. I got married two months ago and traveled for a month. All in all, life has been great!

Congrats on the ball and chain! :) (MadDoc can elaborate if you insist, but I'd be scared)

I am fine, my two daughters are growing fast... I tried that too (growing up) for a while... hated every minute of it so I gave it up ;)

« SpeedGuide.net Speed Test Results »
65.92 Mbit/s down ↓
20.94 Mbit/s up ↑
ping: 217ms jitter: 9ms

I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous

sometimes you have to think outside the box to get inside the box ;).

Wow, 18 again huh? oh, sorry, I thought it was ME :D

I am still around but not much these days. It's a pity that so many are not here anymore, for one reason or another.
Still like to poke my head in here occasionally to see how it is all going. :)
