TCP/IP Networks

Why LANs are always called TCP/IP networks, Yes, they use TCP/IP protocols but what are other networks that don't use TCP/IP ?

LAN question is already answered.
NetBIOS was developed for networks that don't use TCP/IP.

Novell networks used to use IPX protocol.
LANTastic networks used to use its own funky version of Netbios.
