I have a Abit AN7 motherboard in an older computer that I tried to upgrade memory in. Problem is it is launching computer into memory check mode and just keeps rebooting never getting past windows failed to start select last known good configuration,....etc....
The sticks are two 512's (DDR400) and 1GB (DDR400) I checked manual it supports up to 3 GB (DDR333) but 2GB (DDR400) but shouldn't it just clock down to DDR333 if more is added? I tried searching for a bios update but as many know, Abit is no more. Any place I can search for bios updates?? Any suggestions? Thanks

Could be a bad stick of RAM. Have you tried testing with only 1 stick at a time?

Geez I feel stupid......I really did a google search kept coming back with Driver Doctor and other third party apps.. Thank you sir hopefully this fixes the problem. I took all the memory out and tried the 1GB stick in DIMM 1 and DIMM 3 and it won't boot with it. I'm looking at the manual it says it supports it.

Yes the 512 sticks work but the 1gb stick won't boot. Those bios files are all .exe files, I thought I had to update bios with .bin files??RaisinCain wrote:http://abit.ws/page/en/motherboard/moth ... DINFO=BIOS
