I went back to using my Win XP PC just to update it and give it some use. Since reformatting the HD and installing a new Win XP SP2 on it, the video is sluggish. When I scroll down a Notepad doc, it goes slow and ripples a little at a time. How can I fix this? I'd love to speed it up more. It seems to have an upgraded video card like my other Dell Win 7 PC but I don't know how to get it working the way it should. Would Flash Player help it? I just got all Windows Updates.
Hi - I was thinking I'd take out the upgraded video card and let it go back to the stock card and see how it runs on that. Does that sound like a good idea?
Can you tell me how to do that by any chance. I bought 3 dual core usd Dell PCs from a guy last Fall. I sold one and kept one with Win XP and one with Win 7. I'm on the Win XP now and this is the one that has sluggish video.
Hi - I removed the extra video card and went back to the stock Intel card and it added new drivers when it loaded.. It seems to work better now. The one I pulled out of there has a small fan on it. It looks like a good card but for some reason I couldn't seem to get it working right in this PC.
No, it has UPC codes and says ATI on the fan. Near the slot it says V179 and CN-01
I should be able to get driver for it somewhere. It's XP compatible,
I think this is what it is :

I put the card back in and went to dell at the link you posted. I got the driver for Win XP 32 bit, and it asked me if I wanted to install it because it's older than drivers I had, so I said yes, and then it would not install, said my PC requirements were not met so installation was aborted.
Can you tell me of a good inexpensive video card or should I just go back to the stock card that was in it? It doesn't work well with the card I listed about and I can't seem to update driver for it.
