Synching Google Accounts

I hope everyone is well!
Can anyone tell me the advantages of Synching Google Accounts? Can anyone tell me the disadvantages of it? Does it have any adverse changes that would not be welcome or welcome? Thanks!

Specifically what is it you want to synch? I use the synching feature of Chrome...so that my bookmarks are the same across office workstation, laptop, home rig, etc.

also when I had android I used it to sync my contacts as I flashed alot of roms. And before I setup my own exchange server, I would add google as an exchange account on the iphone for cal, contacts and email sync

I guess I just didn't know what all syncs. One time I synced yahoo with google and then google had my middle name showing as to where it should have been my first name because it was my business email.
