Fresh install of windows 7 on HP dc5800. Will not let me install programs.

Post by BOWTYE8 »

Did a google search. Installed a fresh copy of win 7 professional on a 74 gig Raptor drive I had laying around. Only me as admin.
Install went smooth but when I try to install itunes or adobe flash player the screen displays "unkown publisher" and quits installing.

Tried all settings in IE8 to low and set active X settings to enable to try to get it to load with no sucess.

Internet browsing and such seems ok.

Any advice for somthing to try?
Thanks
Dennis

Have you dropped the UAC settings yet?
Done Microsoft updates yet? (first thing you should do actually)

update.....Brought PC into living room and did frsh install with lan line hardwired to router.
Install all programs as needed. Itunes etc....
PC has still been in living room the past 3 weeks. Running well. I installed the wireless N USB adapter. Internet all good. Tried to install Xfinity virus protection(Daughters PC) and it downloads but when I click OK to instakk same deal as before. Unkown publisher and cxl's the install.
I pull the wireless adapter and hardwire lan. It installed no problem. So its something todo with the wireless. Internet surfing etc is all good. Just installing programs as far as I can tell.
She is admin. Only her acct. created when I redid the machine.
Yeold- I dont think it UAC. works 100% when on lan.(hardwired to router)
Thought???

When using wifi you must set the connection to Home, it's probably set to Public.
No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.
If it is not true for you, it isn't true.
