Anybody got a cure for Ubuntu 11.04 and constant Flash crashes. I've gone back to Windblows 7 because its stable, unlike that crap Millennium/Vista. I like the layout of the new Ubuntu but that POS Flash crashes every 15 min. I'm tempted to go back to v. 10, at least it was stable. I'd go ask over on Ubuntu's forum but I forgot my user name/password. I thought they had come a long way with Linux over the past decade but this release is just terrible.

Do you know if the Broadcom cards work out of the box or will I need to tweak it for the live version?

Broadcom wifi should work, but it's still a pain, at least in straight Debian. You have to use the appropriate drivers based on its hardware ID and chipset version. I spent 4 hrs last Wed getting bcm wifi running on Debian Squeeze for my sister.

If you like Gnome, and want a super fast, stable system, just use Debian Squeeze.
I can give instructions how to get a system up & running with the real FF & stable Flash. Takes about an hour at most start to finish, along with all the software you'll ever need, without all the Ubuntu bloat and needless junk.

As for your current system, roll back to the latest stable Flash. Ubuntu probably uses a tweaked dev version. You can do this by downloading and manually replacing the libflashplayer.so. (from adobe site)

You know Tony, I've always used Debian as my distro up until the last two Ubuntu releases. I have no problems getting the broadcom card to work under straight Debian, just ubuntu 11. I can't roll back the OS as it crashed in the middle of the last distro upgrade, so a fresh install was needed. Cool, you got FF to run without a headache. Do you have a link to that FF install instructions?
