I remember wasting a little time on some of these. I could not afford to buy one so I went to work at a store that sold games. I explained to the boss I need one at home to learn how to use it so I could sell them. Dammed if he didn't buy it.
Started with a 400, then moved to an 800 then a 1200XL. In some ways they were ahead of most other computers at the time. I was able to buy computers at 10% over cost so I bought a couple. Can't remember what I paid for them, but I remember paying $1200 for a 10 Meg HD. At the time I figured 10 Megs would last me the rest of my life.

The hurricane took away my Atari2600 and most games. I have a three terabyte RAID5 which I hope will last me for awhile.blacklab wrote:I remember wasting a little time on some of these.
