Sound Crackles!

Post by aagiants »

Hey Guys-

Ive been having a problem that has been driving me crazy.

I have been using these old Logitech speakers and audigy card on an old XP system that worked flawlessly in my old rig. I upgraded to a a880+ motherboard Windows 7 rig. BUT MY SOUND CRACKLES!!! It pops during videos (Youtube)/games, but strangely not with music.

I have tried using my old Audigy card AND the onboard sounds with the same result.

Can you guys suggest any fixes? I have updated drivers for both my audigy card and my onboard card with no luck

Not sure why it would pop and crackle with one and not the other (Vid/Music). I'm not familiar with that sound card but there might be a control panel for it where you can pick which driver to use. If it has the choice of an "ASIO" compliant driver I would pick that and give it a try.

tried different speakers? Is the jack having the connection done properly as in nothing hit it recently to break something inside?

I doubt its the speaker as they were working just fine- I'll give my headphones a whirl tonight.

This drives me crazy

Phew... I finally got it fixed..

I put my audigy card back in, and used some 3rd party drivers for vista to get this thing to work... Man so frustrating but at least it works now :) Thanks guys

I lied- ITS BACK!!

It has something to do with Flash.. It only happens when flash is open and playing music...

Any guesses? Google doesn't help much and it happens for both onboard and my audigy card.
