Sniffing packets

Post by Boojak »

I'm using GhostWall firewall (http://www.ghostsecurity.com/ghostwall/) to block incoming or outgoing packets.

My gaming console is connected to my laptop which has Ghostwall, and then my laptop connects to my Router.

I can read incoming packets without any problem on my laptop, but for some reason Ghostwall didn't intercept outgoing packets.

This is a problem because if Ghostwall can't intercept outgoing packets, the 'Allows outgoing packets' function from the program won't work.

Anybody knows why? Or is it just Ghostwall? I'm looking forward to a different program that does the same job ...

Thanks in advance!

Hmm, perhaps, this is because I have more than 2 NICs on my laptop? 1 WNIC and 1 NIC... would that explain the problem?
