I posted this on the NVidia forums to get a response but nothing, so I figured I would ask here as well
Win 7 x64, PNY Geforce GTX 465 w/ NVIDIA Forceware 258.96 WHQL Vista 64 driver
I have an issue with the HDMI displaying on my HDTVs. Yesterday I was still using the 257.21 drivers on my Win 7 x64 for my 2005 65 inch Toshiba, it only supports up to 1080i and when I used the HDMI, it wouldnt resize correctly for the screen so I had to customize it...but when I used my PS3 the resolution and everything is pretty fine.
So then I try it on my tv 2009 67 inch Samsung, it supports 1080p and the 1920 x 1080 resolution, and still the display doesnt fit the whole desktop and needed to be customized...so I use my PS3 and everything was prefect, so I uninstall drivers and reinstall the newest NVidia drivers today and try it and yet still the 1920 x 1080 resolution doesnt display correctly like it does on the PS3.
I am wondering if this is something to do wih the drivers or is there some problem with the mini-HDMI adapter going into HDMI cable which doesnt seem likely. Any1 else experiencing these problems displaying correct resolution on tv with the GTX 465 card? I got the card for gaming, which I must say is badass well done PNY & NVidia, but I also got this card so I could use it on my HDTVs to enjoy some movies and such.

PNY GTX 465 HDMI issue to HDTVs
I talked to Toshiba tech about the issue with the resolution and the cutoff screen and was told my tv was the old model that doesnt support it being used as a monitor.
The Samsung - HL-67A510 Projection TV (HL67A510) , (which I can used my laptop with Win XP Prof SP-3 w/ ATI Radeon Mobile x600 via VGA and looks ok), I then used the desktop again and tried to use the DVI to VGA adapter and it puts the screen to 1920 x 1080 (native) and displays like 1 inch black bars all around and when I use the mini-HDMI to HDMI adapter it puts the screen to 1920 x 1080 (native) and the whole desktop cuts off left and right sides about an inch. When I start the Win 7 desktop it and it goes to the login screen everything looks perfect and fits but once you login it shows the desktop, icons, etc..cut off and then I have to go through that resizing which then makes it look a little weird.
I dont know if its the drivers or if it is the actual card itself or if the mini-HDMI adapter is the issue.
I'm going to try the HDMI on my brothers newer Toshiba - 32RV525R 32-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV and see if the 1920 x 1080 resolution still gives me a problem, I'm hoping more that it is a driver issue and not a problem with the mini-HDMI adapter or the card itself but would really like to know what is causing the issue so I can fix it and enjoy the card.

I have read all the manuals and talked to the techs for Samsung and Toshiba, I have tried Just Scan and other settings and it still cuts off screen or will display the 1920 x 1080 display with a 1 inch black box around it. I have used an ATI Radeon HD5830 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.0 x16 Graphics Card (neighbors GC) with the HDMI connected and it works/fits prefectly and movies, games, browser like crystal clear.
I have tried the GTX 465 HDMI on the Toshiba (32RV525R) and I still get the same cutoff results but yet my PS3 is perfect at 1920 x 1080 and so is the Radeon HD5830 card. It has to be either the driver, mini-HDMI adapter, or the card itself. Cause the PS3 is cheaper than the GTX 465 and the PS3 HDMI works perfectly, I'm a little disappointed with this card atm and dont really want to have to switch to ATI just to get the HD I was looking for.

I have a ATI 3750 1 GiG card using a DVI to HDMI cable attached to a sony Brava 40" running at full 1080p with no cut off or black lines.
my buddy that is using a built in NVIDIA card using a mini HDMI to HDMI attached to a 55" sharp aquos has the same problem as you do running at 1080p he can only run it at 720p to get the screen to display properly.
In my experience ATI cards have always done a better job displaying on TV's in general. NVIDIA cards are better for gaming.
My opinion is get a ATI card for your HD TV.

Haven't played with this in a while but in the nvidia control panel there use to be a few modes to choose as far as how it displays on the TV. Mirrored or something like that would always use less then the full TV screen, but there was another one that would stretch it out, or let it be independent of the monitors resolution and that would fill the screen.
