MS office

Post by 24giovanni »

When using either office 2007 or 2010, I try to save a doc or an excel sheet they often end in .docx or .xlsx ... etc. Is there something I can use that will change it to .doc or .xls so it will automatically be done for me. I am sick of people telling me they cant't open my attachments cause they have older version of MS office.

thx

Go to your Office button, expand it, click on the Word (or excel or whatever) Options....go to the Save section, in the drop down menu select the legacy product you'd like the default the save as, such as Word 97 - 2003 Document.

FYI, the dwindling amount of end users still on legacy versions can easily open up the newer XML versions of documents by downloading and installing the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack..which is free, and updates their older versions of Office.
