My trackball explorer works now? Why?

Post by Chrome_ »

I'm running 64 bit Vista

My current steup follows:
M47A79T Mobo
4 Gig's corsair RAM
Sapphire Radeon 5850
An Ultimate Coolermaster 900w PS.

My only complaint was that my trackball explorer's scroll wheel performed very poorly, as in I would have to turn it many more times than necessary for web pages and was mostly useless in games and in windows explorer...until tonight. I don't have autoupdates turned on, and I haven't updated for several months, but my ancient trackball now works perfectly. Any advice/explanations?

Goto the Device Manager and under "Mice and other pointing devices", select your mouse and then the "Driver" tab. Check out the Driver date and see if the roll back is available.

One of three things is likely:

1.) You had some crap in your mouse and it finally got dislodged after months of usage. Any mouse with rollers on the inside can be clogged up in this manner.

2.) Your drivers got updated. Even though you may have autoupdate off, it may still do critical updates.

3.) Your mouse settings got reset. The sensitivity setting could have been reset to something higher.

Cheers,
M
