newbie on networking, HELP

Post by bruskieb »

sure this has been asked before but don't have time to search through threads. Due to construction of home or whatever, I don't have wireless on other levels of my home. confused about gateways, access points ect. On main level I have DSL modem connected to wireless router with one computer wired and 3 others wireless (xbox, blueray player,Wii). Upstairs I have another computer, xbox, Wii, laptops, All wireless with very weak signal that breaks off repeatedly. More laptops in basement, lol, have lots of kids.

OK, tried a signal booster from linksys(peice of crap) with no luck. do I get a wireless access point for each upstairs and basement and wire them? HELP
