FF 3.6 here, and that page was all messed up for me. White with blue/black text and an animated ad below the CSN logo.

fine for me.. often times I've seen pages react the way that do in Dan's screen shot is from connection to the site... bad hit to it latency/ping etc.. usually a refresh or two takes care of it..could be just the site having a slow hop between you and it vs the rest of us.

Its AdBlock plus. Disable on csnne.com and it renders properly.

It's not latency, I'm on a fast connection right now, my Firefox looks just like Dans pic, yet it properly loads in under a second in IE. My only FF add-ons are AdBlocker, Persona, and Skype.

We have a winner with adblock plus. How do I make an acception in my filter so it renders properly? I use whitelist filter.

thx

Once on the page...look at the drop down arrow on the ABP stop sign up on the right side of FF....select "Disable on blah blah"....and then refresh page.

Looks fine to me in FF 3.5.7.
The reason Dan's view is messed up has nothing to do with connections, it is because of the missing stylesheet which exists at this URL:

Code: Select all

http://www.csnne.com/common/css_platformic/css/aggregatecss.php?l=default|main|menz1164|horizontal_tabs_677|stats|custom_classes|component_masthead_roche|component_left_rail_mcadam|component_left_rail_curran|component_left_rail_blakely|component_left_rail_haggerty|component_left_rail_felger|component_left_rail_rlevine|component_left_rail_martone|component_contest_middle|component_right_video_bloglist|component_right_top_stories|component_right_scores|component_sportsnet_central_poll_block|component_ad_300x250|component_right_tv_sched|component_right_social_community|component_ad_300x250_b|component_right_landing_dec09|component_footer&g=style

Believe it or not, that's the path to the stylesheet used for that page. Someone needs to teach the guy who made the page how to do proper file naming, php and html. He's using a php script to do database queries and load a stylesheet at the same time.
If you can't load this in your browser you won't be able to view the page properly:
LINK TO STYLESHEET
No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.
If it is not true for you, it isn't true.

I have an Adblock Plus button in the upper right hand corner of my browser, just below the red X. When you have csnne.com loaded, right click the button and some options pop up, one of them is "Disable for csnne.com", this seems to do the trick.

Well it was a guess and at the time of a few pages doing it to me in the past a few refreshes took care of it... my biggest guess was from issues between the server and myself but ohh well its not much of a issue that warrants me getting all worked up over it. If I can't get to a site I move on. :thumb:

I don't...I'm running 3.6 and it's right up to the right of my Google Search box. Perhaps whatever theme you're using, or some setting in your view. Oh...bring up your ADP properties by double clicking it in your Add-Ons...click the Options menu, and ensure there's a checkbox next to "Show in toolbar".

Sherlock was...eh, 6 out of 10.

That was weird. I went into options and it was checked off already. I unchecked it and then checked it off again and did what you said to do and now it is rending correctly.

Thx Brian and everyone else for help. I appreciate it.

Like Tony mentioned, you need adblock to let the stylesheet load.

click the stopsign and select the stylesheet entry and add it as an exception, then you can block ads and still see the site correctly.
