I know I'm late with this. But no planes? No copters? Can't fly anything? EPIC phail IMO. That was always a great part of the game.

I read it on a few message boards. If true, I don't know if I'll even buy it.YeOldeStonecat wrote:I haven't seen a lot of details of the game, I hadn't read that there's no aircraft...did you see that somewhere? If it's true....yeah, bummer.

Can you tell us the specs of his machine...DX9, DX10, or DX11 version? I have the DX9 version and it looks like a souped up version of 2142 which isn't bad, and it does play like a regular BF game. the tanks and other vehicles are still all BF2 as well as most of the static structures...just higher polygon counts and hi-rez skins.
Aslo, for anyone reading this thread that is attempting to use the Steam version on Win7 with DX11...make sure you are using the beta version of Steam which fixes the crashes in DX11.

He's running a P4 2.5 quad core, 4 gigs of RAM, Win7 64 Ultimate, Asus mobo, WD Black Edition 750 gig drive, and a Sapphire 5770 1 gig vid card, which supports DX11, and an Asus 24" wide gaming LCD monitor. That monitor is awesome, extra crispy colors for gaming, very sharp pictures, 2ms.
I only stood over his shoulder watching for a few minutes, he was driving some buggy or quad running through some gravel mountain roads, some mountain side buildings here 'n there.

What failed it for me is that its nothing like the Battlefield series. Remove the prone ability??? WTH!! Lots of other features just are not the same. I hope BF3 follows what BF2 did but allow you to destroy more of the environment. I'm skipping buying this game and waiting for 1943 since not only is it cheaper but at least its built to play like a true Battlefield game.YeOldeStonecat wrote:Jake bought it yesterday, I just watched him play it for a while...danged awesome looking.
