You could go to the vehicle's website, and see if they have a loan calculator.

Just curious, what kind of vehicle you going to get?

Depends on your credit status. Could be anywhere from 0% to 25 %

Also depends on if the car is new or used.

For that little of an ammount hell I'd just wait till you have it saved up. Unless you are in dire need of a car.
Respect it.

sorry for late response, helpin my spoiled friend move into his huge new bayfront house.

I'm looking to get a 86-89 Porsche 944 Turbo for around 13k. You can usually find one with 40k original miles, they've got 240 crank hp stock. Slap on an SFR Level 1 turbo upgrade for $999.99, 46mm Tial wastegate $549, SFR Intake manifold $899, 944, 944S and 944S2 2.5" Cat-back Exhaust $599, and your at 310rwhp on a car that weighs 3000lbs. Reliability on these cars is amazing, as long as you change the belts every so often, they'll last forever. Plus its a Porsche :D :)

Thanks for the replies, I don't have any credit myself, i'm going to have to co-sign with either my step dad or grandfather. Unless they can just loan me the money themselves.

No I haven't checked insurance. Right now i'm paying 2k anually. My 18yo friend has a 90 Camaro and hes paying the same. It shouldn't be much more, hopefully. I just can't wait to get out of Jersey, its all around a bad state, and getting much worse.

My credit union for a vehicle older than 1996 is 7.99% and can go from 12 - 36 months. However, they probably won't loan you very much.

Also, check insurance rates before you even consider getting a specific car. AAA was going to take me for about $500 a month in insurance for full coverage on my Z28 if it was in my name. I am a 19 year old male with a clean record and we have 5 other cars besides my Z28 insured through them. Insurance needs to be regulated dammit! Good thing my mom put it in her name and as a pleasure vehicle. ;)

Paying a a little under $100 a month for the 6 months it comes out to play and $10 a month for fire/theft when it sits in the garage in the winter.

Also, the closer you live to a larger city the more your insurance will be, so if you happen to be out in the sticks, the better your rate will be. However, I don't think you are going to get a very nice rate... Also, as Bala stated, you will need full coverage.

Do some searching around and have a set plan to get things done if you are serious about getting something.

Oh yeah, by the time you factor in the cost of your mods plus the car you are sitting at about 16K without sales tax calculated. Then you will most likely need some good tuning. Also, if you aren't instlaling everything yourself, labor will bite your ass.

By the time you calculate everything up you will probably be sitting at around 18K. Then you still need to get insurance ;) Oh yeah, then with the kind of power you want you will have to spend another $600 on tires to keep your ass planted to the pavement ;)

it depends on your FICOS score,

I have very good credit and I got 5.9% in 07 on a new honda car,and honda never deals on that,,but that was before the car co's started dropping their pants, now I could get much better if no 0%,

but APR on used cars can be pretty high,

you might be better off taking out a personal credit line or loan or a credit card for a small amount like 3 or 4 k

but also check the credit unions and car rental co's for sales on used vehicles,

and DON'T trust "carfax" IMO,not all collisions or damages are actually reported

I belong to and have a car loan & CC with schools CU and they are great, http://www.cudlautosmart.com/asentry.as ... eSupport=1

they also give me a permanent CC rate of 6.9

Even though the thread is old, I’d like to know what car he wound up with.

Speaking of insurance, years ago before I was even married and still worked at Honda, they were going to give me a great deal on a newCBR-1100 Blackbird. I could afford the note with no problem, the only problem was the insurance company wanted three times the amount of the cost of the bike per year.

That was with a clean driving record too. :irate:

1994 MX-5 Black/Black 1.8L supercharged. Cheaper, more reliable and about 800 LBs lighter.
