Do I need a cover letter?

Post by CableDude »

Found a job I am going to apply for. The ad says nothing about a cover letter, just send resume. Do I really need to write a cover letter?

How does this help him in anyway, shape or form???

And as for your question CD, if it didn't really ask for it don't but be sure to put on the outside of a envelope you put it in the job your applying for so they have some sort of idea what is going on :thumb:

Are you emailing it, snail mail or sending via some web site? I would say for snail mail, yes, for sure. Email, maybe or just some sort of thing introducing yourself and showing your interest while attaching your resume. Web site, just send resume.

I would send one. It lets you show some personality that a resume can't.

Without question "Yes". A cover letter should be part of a resume, they go together.

The cover letter is a formal introduction, a chance to sell yourself and separate your personality from others, to make yourself stand above other applicants.

I would include it as well. Worst case scenario you include it and it hits the trash rather than no cover letter and your resume hits the trash.

I would just to show them that you could write an effective résumé. I do not see it hurting you in any way. In today’s job market, you need every advantage you can get.

Did you ever see negative points?

ok then.

Added to question why you'd make an utterly worthless post in the thread.

What's to me? I'm just tired of you.

And the fact that you're posting yet another moronic violence towards women image you should be banned for, does nothing to change my opinion of you as someone who should have stayed banned a long time ago.

You're sick.

That one is fine. The stupid one you posted before speaks volumes on the quality of your character and I still feel you should be banned for posting it.

nothing in this post means anything about what CD asked for and looks to be nothing more than a attempt to gain attention as usual.
