Cable terminator tool

Post by PNemesis »

To describe the problem, and hatred:

I live in a country where 1 cable provider has a dominance of 70% of teritory. And also it's really crappy company, without any proper support, not to mention that they have constant complains, but who gives a damn about us users. They fix it when we call inspection for TV and communications, but nothing until then. And they keep fixing for you, because they know that you have reported them to proper authority.

You should see how splitter boxes look like in friends building.
For 3 years they never fixed that box.

So my friend decided to break the contract, and when they unplugged him, they putted a terminator onto splitter box.
Now we want some revenge, free C.

Can someone help me in removing terminator tool without using a Gilbert tool?
Terminator is neverending rotational.

so unless I read this wrong and you mean something different than "stealing Cable" then I'm sorry and I'll think harder besides some of the "funny" suggestions mentioned in that first thread you linked with the hack saw in them and so on.

I accidently stumbled on these links while googling. So that is why I've posted them. :thumb:

No it's not quite "stealing the cable". As I've said, he had contract, he even had Cable net, but on-call support and terrain support is awful. So that is why he breaked contract, and got ADSL. And we cannot put air antenna on building, because the roof is at 60 degree angle with sheet metal on it.

To describe how this cable company support works:

Cable TV:
7 channels have flickering (looks like black bars that are scrolling vertically) due to the outside EM interferance. (Never putted shielded cables). Adn cables go from roof to roof.
5 channels out of 70 have "snow effect", or they are unwatchable.

And even when support comes, everytime they come to your apartment, even when problem resides somewhere else. And when you try to explain tto them, and when they see that therre is no problem in building, they never bother to check, amplifiers or splitter boxs 100m, 200meters, X meters, from apartment.

Internet:
On every call, when something is wrong with net, be it slow, no net, or even cannot access to certain pages (while on ADSL it works) they are trying to convince you that there is something wrong with your PC a.k.a. Trojan/Virus, or there is a field work in progress. And I do work with IT for 20 years. And there are people who work with IT even more.
And when you say that you do not have trojan/viruses win is fresh...etc. they do try to "fix" problem.

Once I had problem for 3 weeks, download was good, upload was 0 or 2-3Kbps. For three weeks I was calling them and threatend them in manners you wouldn't like to know. And after 3 weeks they didn't bothered to repay back. So my money is lost.
Once I had to fix problem because they didn't know how to do it.
As you know costumer info in their database is based on serial and MAC address. Someone screwed up my cable modem MAC and serial, so I had to find out what was wrong. They fixed MAC, but they never putted serial back (there is a different serial in their database).

And if I start writing every problem, I wouldn't. Because no one will bother reading it  :D

So that is why we wan't some revenge. At least for CTV, he has ADSL for net....for now, until my country rids of monopoly on every company that resides here and corruption in goverment.

If anything means to you country is Serbia.

Oh, and I forgot to say this:
Cable company is also violating the law. Because law in my state, not sure about other states, clearly say that: "No product or service can demand from you to buy other product or service in order to buy first product or service".
In other words, if you go into a shop and want to buy TV, you have to buy washing machine in order to buy TV.

And they do so. In order to have Cable Internet you also have to pay monthly for Cable TV, even though you have satelite TV or IPTV, and you do not need Cable TV.
And nobody cares, nor goverment nor Radio and Telecommunication inspection. As long as they pay taxes. So we, end-users, are basically screwed.

1) when a cable company wants to shut you off, They will. No matter who, what, where, or why... You break contract, guess what, all your equipment gets a nice little ping signal that shuts it all off remotly. NO home rigged signal is going to bring it back online.

2) Your trying to get something from nothing, Seeing as cable is a closed loop system, any signal loss from unauthorized users IS noticed. Now to what extent you plan on going with this, I wish you luck. After thier audit team checks your wiring Fubar outside your house from you poping into thier box, You'll have the cops giving you a nice set of bracelets..

Stop trying, its not worth it. OH and to go after your comment about your links, those were for people that wanted to add lines to thier own home to a service they are paying for already. If they do it right, congrats saved them about 15$ give or take. They do it wrong, Just went up to 29.50 (depending on who you have)

so Give up, if your not happy with thier service, drop it, go somewhere else and enjoy. Want more options.. MOVE.... Kthxbi

Take something like a tie wrap and put it inside the terminator. Then take a large screw that fits into the terminator kinda snug. Hold onto the outside of the terminator while you screw the screw in. It will eventually get tight enough to just grab and unscrew the terminator. Hope this helps!!
