Ok, so Glen Beck is now supporting Texas in their secession/sovereignty movement while Rush Limbaugh says that President Obama killed 3 black muslim kids (pirates).
Glen Beck, FU, I'm going to Texas!

Limbaugh trumpets Obama's killing order of 3 black muslim kids

So the GOP can't find an ideology to go with still??????????
A year ago Texas would have been ex-communicated and those 3 black muslim kids would have had their testicles crushed.

If this had happened a year ago, the news and the discussions would have overwhelmingly been dominated by bush haters calling president Bush a murderer of black muslim teens. Whatever the reporting or whomever was president, the action taken was correct.JawZ wrote:Ok,

As far as the pirates/muslims:They are the logical outcome to the ridiculous idea of gun control on the high seas. Outlaw guns and only the outlaws have guns. Pirating goes on in many parts of the world, not just the coast of Somalia, largely because the targets are easy(being unarmed).
Like most liberal ideas-started with good intentions, end with bad outcomes
hanketron, can you elaborate on your last statement? Would that included SS or the interstate transportation system? (Eisenhower pushed it backed by Dems)k. How about Kennedys' man on the moon vision which helped usher in the computer revolution?
Umm..Civil rights? Hell most Dixecrats and deep south Republicans are still a bit peeved about that one.
How about the G.I. Bill? Bad outcomes? Hell it's been watered down big time by the Republicans but it's still one of the best entitlement programs this country ever instigated.
This statement.....

Ummmm............in Asian waters.....is one thing but this last go round hitting the news, well you should take a look into how that came to be.As far as the pirates/muslims:They are the logical outcome to the ridiculous idea of gun control on the high seas.
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

If this were a year ago, Bush supporters like Fox news would have been singing his praises...blindly.

I apologize, I should have been more accurate. It is hard to be accurate when so many disagreeing about what it means to be liberal. I define "liberal ideas" by what contemporary liberals are trying to accomplish in government and politics. In general, "liberal ideas" place trust in a group(gov. agency, politicians, bureaucrats) to make decisions rather than individuals. e.g. government must save for your old age, individuals can't handle that responsibility. This is the basic drive behind Social Security. By the way, I believe in helping the elderly, but not through the confiscation of wages in the guise of some savings program. Charity is great and welfare can be good but handing over our personal responsibilities to the government is a recipe for failure. As it stands, Social Security will fail as it is a Ponzi scheme(pyramid scheme).
Interstate transportation, space exploration, Civil rights, and the GI bill don't fall under what I described above as liberal ideas. There exist those things that individuals need but could never accomplish individually. e.g. Military, roads , monetary system ect. These are therefor undertaken by the public as a whole. They are neither liberal nor conservative.
JTPA(job training partnership act) 2yrs free schooling, would have been a better choice than the GI bill for policy based on a liberal idea. The GI bill is but a payment to those who earned it; it is not an entitlement program. On the other hand, JTPA is pure charity, giving people something they should be responsible for themselves. And, it can be argued that is has been successful without any negative consequences.
downhill quote....."Ummmm............in Asian waters.....is one thing but this last go round hitting the news, well you should take a look into how that came to be."
I know of the recent story of thieving fishermen stealing the fish off the coast of Somalia, after their government fell to a bunch of war lords. That the Somalians sent men out to collect fees from these culprit fishing boats. And that these pirates of today are born of the problem of others trying to steal Somalis natural resource.
Is this what I should take a look at? The fact remains, unarmed ships invite pirates.
Have a nice day guys

The left/right paradigm has been hijacked by the coporatocracy. There is nothing to differentiate liberals from conservatives anymore as they all espouse the same lies. Couple that with the fact that we no longer have a traditional free press as they have been swallowed up by corporate PR firms and you are left with what we have now...economic feudalism.

The press was never free. It has always been suspect. Our earliest news papers where terrible. Only until recently(last 50 or 60 yrs) have we had access to the information and not simply told what's going on and what to think about it.
The truth is most people are to busy living their lives to pay attention to government and politics and get what little they know from the "sound bite news". You know, the 4mins of news on the morning news shows, the same 4 min.s condensed and repeated at the top of the hour on our radio music station, and then again the same 4 min.s of news on the nightly news shows. There is little discussion and debate among the plebs because none know, they believe. And people don't discuss or debate beliefs.
This is why psych. books say your political affiliation is decided in your childhood. Most are programed and can't break the programing.
I see hope, two weeks ago I found that many are discussing , debating, and researching the issues of our time, questioning the great media and opening their minds. It's a shame it's only on the internet.
Have a good one guys chris

Yes, there is a great political awakening amidst a power grab by tyrannical forces.

I think that is an accurate statement.JawZ wrote:Yes, there is a great political awakening amidst a power grab by tyrannical forces.
at first the "tyrannical forces" made me think, then I thought of our government writing tax laws that applied only to specific people, telling auto manufactures who will go bankrupt and who won't, and the implementation of the Keynesian notion that gov takes our money then chooses where and how to stimulate our economy.
I think you were very accurate
The more "we" know the less "they" can get away with.
as always good to talk with ya and hoping u enjoy the day, chris
