Post by JawZ »

If you suddenly became unemployed, and there were ZERO jobs available forcing you to create your own job/business...what would you do?

We rely so much on our employers to create jobs for us...what would we do if we had to create our own job from scratch?

I'd become Pirate Czar for Obama.

Often thought of retiring...moving down to some tropical island..and giving parasail rides, setup a jet ski rental place, and a bar on the beach.

I'm not sure exactly but it would definately be something where people are happy when they come to you. Possibly give guitar lessons, low cost bicycle repairs for people with little money.

I can think a few different choices. If I went back to Montana I could sell firewood & shovel snow in the winter. In spring/summer I could pick huckleberries and grow and/or distribute marijuana. I also had few other ideas but those things would take more time to get going. I'd have to have something to keep me going. However, if all else failed I would just pack it out in the woods till things got right.

just an FYI, with our new uniforms, they were designed specifically to NOT require dry cleaning, in fact, they are wash and wear. We are not supposed to even iron them. As BDU's are phased out, your friend may want to concentrate on other areas. Other industries have uniforms.

There are several industries that do well no matter the economy, even during depressions and recessions:

1. entertainment - people increase ther want for it when money is funny. Thus, computer services, repairs and tv services will be do well.

2. legal vices - booze, nightclubs, bars, gambling, sex will all do well in tough times. Thus, bartenders, doormen, bouncers, strippers & xxx Web will flourish.

Remodel your basement, put in a bar & HD bigscreen and bare your booty a few times a week...

Restaurant owner and farmer. Seriously. I would love to be self sustaining, with my own land, raising the produce that I then turn around (when I can) and use in my restaurant. Making as many things as local and fresh as possible, not caving in like most restaurants and becoming one of those "It's not old 'till it's sold," style... but really putting passion and creativity and a bit of care into the menu.

It would be rediculously hard work, but then again, aren't all the things that are really worth doing?
So trade that typical for something colorful, and if it's crazy live a little crazy!

All kidding aside I would open tortoise garden for all endangered species.

I would also breed them and sell them ONLY to collectors=> simply to the people who are trying the best to keep them dissapearing from earth.

I dont think there would be much profit due all the heating requirements and special enclosures indoors and outdoors but it's something I would love to do.
