I'm done...

Post by Debbie »

Been depressed and in tears all morning about the smoking deal.

I'm not getting any younger. Been thinking about the quality of my life.

I gave my last carton and few packs away. :(

This is a good thing Debbie...turn that frown upside down. :)

Keep what you are currently feeling as motivation and you will succeed! I have confidence in you.

good for you... I quick cold turkey with my wife at the same time. I didn't smoke but maybe 5 or so a day so it wasn't that hard for me but you really should partner up with another quitter to help you out and vise versa.. it really works when you have someone on your back about something like Roody! :D

I'm tired of being tired.

I can't partner with anyone. Right now, I would like to beat the crap out of someone. I need my solitude when going through big changes.

The worse part is that I have to go back to the vegan/vegetarian way of eating because I have two health issues going on.

Right there with you Debbie. Picked the habit up again a few months ago after years of being free.

Not easy, but I'm getting there. If I can do it, you can too :thumb:

Hang in there. When the time comes for you to really stop you'll know. My big turning point was when I realized how stupid it was and that it was doing nothing but killing me and shortening my life.

A friend of mine just quit as well and was using those 'commit lozenges' with great success. They come in a variety of flavors, and although still contain nicotine you are beating the habit of physically smoking a cig as much as you are the addiction to nicotine. I know for me when I quit at times just seeing someone else light up gave me the urge. I'd put money on ya Deb. You've got this easy!! WooT!

Good Luck :) You can do it. If my Gram could do it at 65 years old, then you can too :) We were all so proud of her when she stopped. My mom is almost stopped, she's gone from a pack and a half a day to five a day or so.

Just keep at it, and don't beat yourself up for a slip up here and there - just start over. :)

Plus I am taking the way I eat seriously. Back to the Vegan routine. Even though it is water, I dropped 4lbs. since last week.

I have more energy now than I've had in months!! :thumb:

You flat out have to want it and it sounds like you do! Hang in there and remember it is a disgusting habit that stinks, wastes money, is repulsive to many and kills!

I calculated how much I save and also included the figure for food since veggies are "dirt" cheap!!!

I am opening up a separate savings account and will have that amount automatically deposited every paycheck so I don't see it at all. :thumb:

Veggie diet is fine. Just make sure you are getting enough protein so you don't loose muscle mass. That's the worst thing for diets.

I'm getting plenty between my legumes and nuts. I don't call it a diet. It is the way I have to eat.
