I'm no McCain-Palin defender, but Every time Tina Fey does Palin on SNL, CNN runs it as a front-page news story. And it's never some kind of tie-in to another story, or a creative analysis, just "Tina Fey reprises role as Palin on SNL".
Oooookay.

She's failed on the only interviews she's given....and this is a person who is next in line to be prez....she better get some tough questions but the topic is CNN's lack of coverage of real news....SNL or anything Brittney related is not news and should therefore be relegated to the likes of the Enquirer or People or some other celebrity worship fish-wrap.
CNN has been out of the news biz for a while now. They're in the ratings business.
Offensive
CNN has Nancy Grace for a show host. That in and of itself is enough to know that they have no interest in actual news...

She's SUPPOSED to get ask hard questions.
All she's doing right now is misdirections when she doesn't have an answer.
Do you really want a leader who know's little about the affairs of the country?
Back to the original content. I happen to agree with Burke. Although Tina Fey is great in her impersonations, it's not headline news.

Did you just suggest that Gov Palin has more experience than Senator Obama?
Because if that's true, then Gov Palin has more executive experience than Senator McCain.
amirite?
This thread isn't about Obama.YeOldeStonecat wrote:Yeah..Obama certainly never does any of those, or flippity flops.![]()
His party has deemed him knowledgeable to lead this country. Palin on the other hand has not been deemed that. There is a HUGE difference.Also..lessee....either the VP with a little less experience...or the big P position itself with even less? Hah!
Katie has always asked questions then pushed them to be the bad guy/girl regardless of the answer..thats how she is well before she went to cbs. I see no mis directions I see someone not being able to take interviews very well. I'm sure that once someone is in office they will learn the job just as any other.downhill wrote:What are they supposed to do? Ask if she got S's in Kindergarten?

I see....
So Mrs. Smith. Tell me, what are your qualifications for doing this job?
Well you know, I'm not qualified yet but as soon as you give me the job, I'll learn it pretty fast. *winks and nods*
Of course any business should hire her, right? Come on Sava. That's a lame argument.
Would you like to trade flip flops? Funny that the party who first made a big deal out of them don't have a lot to say right now.YeOldeStonecat wrote:Yeah..Obama certainly never does any of those, or flippity flops.

The McCain record is loaded with flip flops.
That said leveling that charge against any politican is really pretty silly.
Do you REALLY want a leader who's so inflexible that he/she can't ever change their minds? Look what that got us for the last 8 years?
Hah is right.
Look, my personal opinion is that Obama, Biden, Mccain, all three at least have SOME experience. Palin has nada and it shows in the interviews as well as the debate with Biden.

Yep and I stand by that. Obama does have experiece at a federal level. She should be more conversant with more federal programs and what's going on in Washington but the last two interviews gives the impression that her head is empty when it comes to what's going on nationally as well as internationally. But then maybe your right. After all, she DID save us from the evil Canadians.YeOldeStonecat wrote:That was one of the most neutral debates in a long time with pretty much zero outcome.

The debate was interesting tough. She did evade a lot of questions but I'm sure that's what she's been while hiding from the newsreporters. Getting in sync with the McCain campaign and almost up to speed on the issues.
I love Couric's question on where she gets her news and couldn't recite a single publication. She has a degree in journalism and cant' cite a single publication? Maybe it's because she gets all her news from Fox and friends?
I also find it humorous to watch her AND McCain, run on the campaign a change, YET McCains platform is the same as Bush's over the last 8 years.
Qualifications are one thing and she has many as does Biden, but both of them have never been a Vice President or President of a country yet so both are on equal and level grounds and both will learn it on the job.downhill wrote:I see....

That wasn't a argument..that was my opinion. So I'm not entitled to have a opinion but when I give it, its lame now?
To say Biden and Palin are both equal in their experience in Washington with foreign or domestic issues is laughable. You need to question your sources of information.Sava700 wrote:Qualifications are one thing and she has many as does Biden, but both of them have never been a Vice President or President of a country yet so both are on equal and level grounds and both will learn it on the job.

I have to say I like both of them and to be honest I'd rather see them running for President over the current two cause both McCain and Obama have their negatives with me.Izzo wrote:To say Biden and Palin are both equal in their experience in Washington with foreign or domestic issues is laughable. I dunno, maybe you like the taste of sand. Is it a staple in your diet? Whole grain sand????
My opinion on Palin and her performance is this:
She is truly a Washington outsider and her performance is indicative of that. The one thing that I like about her, or rather, what she represents, is the idea that anyone can have a shot at Capitol Hill....the White House is accessible to it's citizens.
So you and your party wanted an outsider....you got one. So why feed her to the wolves?
You can't have your cake and eat it too.
No it's not your opinion but your argument. Let's say McCain wins the election. Then he has a heart attack 3 weeks later. Is your argument that she can learn it? I'll agree that all Presidents do but so far that's a coat of a different color.
Looking for a moment at the big picture, they are all politicians and will screw up some how if elected. The reason I say that is they are human and they all have there own agenda, which may or may not coincide with yours or mine. I tend to think that which ever party wins, history will be made and sadly that will be the bigger focus rather than anything good that is accomplished by either side.
Looking for work............

I've been working in professional kitchens for a year and a half now. You have zero experience in a professional kitchen. We're both applying for a job at a steakhouse, a job that neither of us have held before. Your argument states that we're equally qualified, in spite of the fact that I've been exposed to similar environments and know many more skills that will cross over between jobs, from sanitation to prep to stocking to working the line. How does that make any sense? And by extension, how does your argument about Palin/Biden make any sense?
So trade that typical for something colorful, and if it's crazy live a little crazy!

Can you make any less sense? I'm talking about the big picture..."experience in Gov't"...PERIOD.
And whoever made up that line of "Can't have your cake and eat it too" needs to be slapped in the head with a softball bat. If I have my cake..guess what....I'm going to eat it, no need to wait for anyones permission.
That may be your opinion of her, yes. I know Democrats will dismiss someone from the state of Alaska, not wanting to refer to Alaska as a real state, instead a state of hippies and grunt men labor, nothing important, etc. But in reality Alaska is heavy in growth and development, bristling with business and
some resources mighty important to the lower 48.

no need to illustrate anything...draw your stick people all you want but the bottom line regardless of what kitchen your in lol is that none of them have been in the job yet..therefore they are equal as of now however just as stonecat has said its experience in a level of Govt that means the most I would think. I mean if you really want to use that kitchen job as a argument then that would put Palin way ahead as having a higher Govt Position. Let me know if any of them start making salads would ya.
The bottom line of this topic is CNN is purely reporting nothing news worthy and should stay to comedy central or some other comic station or site...

Jesus H. Christ.....
You don't need to defend Palin's inexperience.....that is why she was picked as the VP...it's her strength in being a Washington outsider. So instead of getting yer panties in a knot and retorting with the usual "Obama is inexperienced as well", embrace her inexperience as her strength. Her executive experience in the state of Alaska is what counts. She hasn't been fully corrupted yet but I'm sure this indoctrination period while on the campaign trail is showing her all of the insider ropes. In any case, your Obama flip flop comments aren't helping Palin or helping the American people to understand why she was picked....so put a sock in it Chef Tell.
Just an FYI, I'm still a registered Republican and I have lived in Alaska for over a year so I'm well versed and aware of the issues.
