I have a few IBM T22/T23 laptops, which I can build into some mighty potent routers if someone would like.
They're mostly P3 800something processors, I'd install PFSense and a PCMCIA NIC. With 256 megs of RAM, this makes for a mighty powerful router that will easily blow the doors off of any router you could purchase without a comma in the price tag.
For those who use the internet hard....do lots of downloading that overwhelms your current routers...PFSense is excellent for this, default table size of 10,000 connections..and you can raise it.
You can throttle P2P traffic, prioritize gaming and VoIP traffic, etc.
Installed on a laptop, you have little space taken up, low noise, very little heat output, low energy, and built in battery backup.
I'll install PFSense with default settings, include the PCMCIA adapter (laptop comes with onboard NIC), including battery and AC adapter, shipping within the US, $150.00
Laptops are used and out of warranty, I'll do my best to select the best quality components out of the pile of them that I have.
