Hello from Houston!

Post by Massa »

Hi all, sure you've been wondering where i've been. I'm down here with my fiancee. We are planning to get married in March. We're starting to get some really nice wind, the rain is arriving shortly. Just thought I'd check in and say hi, with the hurricane blowing over and all. This is my first experience with one, so I have to say I was a little surprised by the hysteria around here, but it seems like most people are prepared.

Any other south Texans on here?

Just make plans for getting the hell out the house should you need too. Areas flooded around here that had never flooded before, and people were told in the past that they wouldn't flood. And no, they were not all below sea level.

I hope for the best for you. Last I seen more than three million people were without power in Houston.

Not from there but my brother is headed that way. He is leaving New Orleans tomorrow and heading to Houston. He works for the power companies and is down there to help get power restored. :thumb:

Massa, are you one of the lucky few that has power?

I hope everything is fine, seen it on the news and it appears that the area received some wide spread damage.

We are lucky here. Power went out on both sides of us but our line stayed intact. Had some high water levels and a few downed trees, on the house as well. Some pics are up at:

Thanks for the wishes guys.

You’re OK and still having power after that is just icing on the cake. :thumb:
