Obamas VP

Post by JC »

Apparently he has already made a decision but is not telling yet.
I think he'll pick Hillary. She is probably the strongest choice for him to land in the White House.

Who do you think he will pick?

I don't think she's even in the running. Not even remotely.

Mark Warner maybe? Maybe Joe Biden? Evan Bayh?

Who knows? Everything is pretty tight lipped.

If they won...you'd surely see a major change in the roles of the VP...she'd change that position with power like you've never seen before. I don't think she'd settle for being in Obamas shadow for long.

Interesting

Actually I don't believe that to be true at all although I do believe that certainly is the perception of her by a lot of folk and especially Republicans.

There is not a single VP who has wielded as much power as Cheney. LOL, not even close!!! Why? Because George was never strong enough to lead on his own.

I doubt that the new VP will weld anywhere near the power that Cheney has and I think that Obama is more than adept to figure things out without his VP looking over his shoulder all day long no matter who he chooses.

My preference is that he choose Biden but we'll see.

Although I've decided to stay out of political threads here, I think since its most likely going to effect me since it would appear that Virginia is about to get a new Gov.
Governor Tim Kaine left Richmond this morning, presumably heading for the Democratic National Convention.

A crowd of reporters and photographers staked out the governor's mansion this morning, as voters and journalists alike wait for Barack Obama's announcement about a running mate. Early this morning Kaine walked to his office in the Patrick Henry Building. On his way back, he was asked about his chances of getting a Vice-Presidential nod. Kaine would only say it's up to the campaign.

The governor left the mansion through a secure exit around 10:00, avoiding the media. His office said he would pick up his son and is then flying to Denver, Colorado for the Democratic National Convention.

Many political observers believe Kaine has been on Obama's short-list of possible running mates. The Obama campaign is expected to announce the choice by email and text message before a public appearance Saturday afternoon in Springfield, Illinois. The convention starts Sunday, though Kaine had previously said he would head to Denver today.

I really don't think it will be Kaine. That said we will find out soon enough.

What he said.

The only way she would run with him is if HE takes the VP. She wants all or nothing.
Now, Hank, touch your throat. That tube you feel is your trachea. Think of it as your handle. That thing your thumb is on is your carotid artery. Think of it as your button. I want you to grab the handle, push the button.

If Obama did take Hillary as a VP you can bet your ass that he'd be wearing full body armor suit anytime they were together or he went out in public.

Compliments of MSNBC.
Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine have been told by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's campaign they will not be his vice presidential choice, NBC News reported on Friday, quoting sources.
