I'm not surprised but if you read my post and put it into context with yours and then take into consideration your behavior on this forum it should be fairly easy to understand. I'm pretty sure most people that read it understood it.

I did a little digging and according to this pdf, sexually activity in grades 9 - 12 has gone down over 1993 to 2003. With the 2003 66% being in the 12th grade. Also according to this pdf teen pregnancy is dropping also. Really I would guess 17 - 18 being the age teens are most sexuality active. And this is gonna throw the readings for the rest of the ages. I think 18 is an old enough age for sex and really the statistical data should have not factored in 17 and 18 to get a better reading.
some of those episodes I don't want her exposed to.

Change the channel.
:rotfl: You're starting to sound like some others around here....if you disagree with something...you try to blame the person for watching FOX news. Actually I don't watch FOX news at all...when I watch the news...it's local news, Ch3 WFSB.

And to know what's going on in school? Lessee...neighbor of mine is a long time teacher in the local school system, couple of other friends are also teachers in school systems across the state, another friend was up til recently the town police youth officer that did most of his daily work in the schools around town. Reading the local newspapers, including letters to the editor from other concerned parents.

But the paradox here....I mentioned the Family Guy show and the 5yo for a reason. You suggested to change the channel (which..thank you..but we had already been doing on our own accord for a few of the bad episodes). But...the question this raises in my mind...are you agreeing that perhaps some Family Guy episodes are too much..and to not allow a little one to watch them? To me..that seems to conflict with wondering if music may influence them too.

I see so you are basing you assumption off hearsay and gossip. I got to say even via the route of local media and gossip you paint a much darker picture than where I live. Perhaps you should move. Also this song is no where close to being as offensive as Family Guy. Not a very good comparison.

Now you said that in the 40's and 50's these things did not happen as often.* At least I am guessing that is what you were driving at. That is undoubtedly true as in 1940 the estimated U.S population was 132,122,446 and in 1950 it was 152,271,417. But today the U.S population is almost double that at 301,139,947 as of 2007. So yes you are going to see a rise in the occurrence of this. Just like you will see a rise in occurrence of crime. Also you will see a increase of these topic in media and gossip. But hearsay is a terrible source of data to work off of as you are only amplifying the apparent occurrence of these events. Time is as another factor that you have failed to bring up. How often are these things happening? But youth sex is going to happen. To say it is due to art though needs allot more backing than what you are providing. Your theory also raises serious questions about how much free will we actually have. You are painting humans as weak minded individuals. Only a child raised by the T. V. and not his/her parents might this be a worthwhile concern. Which brings me back to irresponsible parents. Also let's not forget freedom of expression and what censorship truly does to our rights in the so called land of the free.

*Edit Sorry I misread in your 40's or 50's. Still does not change my point though as from 1960 - 2007 the population has gone up from 180 million to 300 million.
